Sorry wiLbur, just never seen anyone call :grug: (Grug) Ed before.

I'm a fan of the DIY hosting, if I actually had a comic up and running right now, I'd have my own domain and use Comicpress. Comicpress is a theme for Wordpress, so the theme itself is free, and so is Wordpress, you just need somewhere to host it. And hosting is pretty cheap, if you can't afford $10 a month, you've got larger issues to deal with. I know a lot of comic/art people (including me) use Dreamhost. Plus you could have your own snazzy email address.

no worries, scott -- and thanks for the input.
btw, it's not that i can't afford hosting, but why pay for something if you can get it perfectly well for free elsewhere, y'know. but it's the last bit i'm not so sure about. i think i'm coming to the same conclusion as you, actually.

It's the difference between a couch you find on the curb and a couch you buy from some store. Both will work, but the one you bought will probably look better.

P.S. If you're going to hang around, you're going to need an avatar!

ah well y'see i'm more of a found sofa man... i love furnishing my house with odds and ends i've come across over the years rather than buying some fancy suite, all-matching'n'everything...

erm.. to be honest i'm not sure i'm going to set up a webcomic at the moment after all...
i was all fired up about it...
....heh... :pickle:

and yes i guess i'll sort out an avatar at some point. what are you, my mother?

Well... it's not really. I mean you're not going to get your website home and find it has fleas or that it's been peed on or something.

I happen to like the WCN layout.

Maybe I'm just more of a control freak. Being able to do what I went, when I want, how I want, is far more comforting to me than having only a few templates to choose from.

Me, I'd rather spend my time making comics.
