Just read the first Captain Marvel and really dig it. I almost didn't pick it up because the cover art looks like ass, but the interior goods my Weeks/Gaudiano is great stuff. I'm glad that they didn't try to make the costume more contemporary (although, I guess they still have time). Normally this sort of time-travel, continuity screwing type stuff gets on my nerves, but seems to work here.

Recommended!

It seems Z-Cult is back. There's a thing about what happened here :http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=12452

I read lots this week but the Iron Man annual is the one that stood out for me. It was all espionage and ladies.

I still can't find the new Scott Pilgrim so I bought Zombies Calling and was quite disappointed. I read somewhere it was Scott Pilgrim with zombies and I cringed but O'Malley pimped it a bit so I was interested but reading it made me cringe again.

Yay, I finally got the new Scott P. I declare it to be: better than book 3.

Concurred. I was really disappointed by the deus ex machina ending of vol. 3.

Comic shops.

It's a great system that I highly reccomend. In addition to providing a printed copy of each book I "download" from them, I help keep them from having to close down, and it provides renumeration for the already grossly underpaid creators, as well as feedback for the publishers of the comical booklets that I like -- helping them to decide to keep making the ones that don't suck shit. Which isn't many of them.

Well said.

I can't take total credit for it. A line of it was cribbed from something I saw typed on the TCJ forum.

Ah well, either way, I try to buy the comics I want to read, as I am hoping people will do the same for me one day.

-Action #859
I like this story even though I don't know or care about the Legion of Superheroes. Stories where Superman is in deep shit are always cool.
-Birds of Prey #112
This was terrible. It felt like it was forcing "fun" on me but was failing.
-Brave and the Bold #8
I loved this! Very nutty and silver age-y without being cheesy.
-Captain America #32
There's lots of things happening in this book and it's all dragging along slowly.
-Captain America - The Chosen #4
Do you know this title? Cap is on his deathbed but he helps some army man in Afghanistan using his mind by standing around him and being encouraging.
-Countdown - Search for Ray Palmer - Gotham by Gaslight
This wasn't shit but it should've been. The mood of it was cool and they avoided a bunch of obvious things but the reveal of the villain was dumb.
-Countdown to Mystery #3
I don't give a shit about Dr. Fate but this was cool. Mainly because it wasn't very magical. The backup story has interesting art but there is Batman in it and he looks totally swiped from Jim Lee.
-Countdown to Final Crisis #23
This is getting okay. I'm only just now feeling the "countdown"-ness. Maybe the book should have started here? I don't see why the weekly gimmick has to equal year long gimmick as well. There's a weird mix of brutal stuff happening to a silly character in this issue.
-Detective #838
Good. I am still interested in how they are going to drag this on for four more parts.
-Heroes for Hire #15
I was completely lost. Not a good issue to start with. Lots of fighting amongst themselves and crying.
-Incredible Hulk #111
Hulk is in it some but it is mainly a bunch of people trying to live while he is tearing shit up. I have no interest in this world war hulk.
-Iron Man Annual #1
This was so rad! Self contained story that had lots of ladies and action. There is one dumb panel where a woman with big titties complains about being flat chested that I was expecting to see all over the usual websites.
-Metamorpho: Year One #4
I absolutely love Metamorpho but this mini has been blowing. The new stuff added to the origin are pointless. There are cool scenes in this issue that feel just like the old school Metamorpho comics but when that's all I'm digging in this book I might as well read those old ones instead.
-New X-Men #44
I am giving up. I am so not an X-Men person. Also, I used to be really into Humberto Ramos but now he grosses me out. What's with the necks on all the strong dudes?
-The Flash #234
This was good fun but not much really happened. I liked the art though. The art on the backup story was quite nice too.
-Thunderbolts: Breaking Point #1
Ugh! Hated it! Two of the ladies on the team don't like each other! And they are on the same team! And they don't like each other! For some 20 pages!
-Umbrella Academy #3
This is great! I don't see the try hardiness I saw in the first issues. Some of the characters are just so fun to look at.
-Wolverine Origins #19
This was surprisingly good. I think I am starting to not hate Wolverine.

I've heard this other places, too. I guess I should probably check it out?
