i would like to take this time to say that mexican comic shops only have comics en espanol, and the big two are behind on their translations. marvel has just started civil war, and dc just finished the goddam death of superman and is starting all those spinoffs i remember from when i was fuckin' twelve years old.

Jesus, that's great. I wonder if the average reader realises that this is the case? Hell, maybe there are people in Mexico that still think Rob Leifeld is cool! What a horrific thought. It's like those tales of Japanese soldiers guarding islands long after WWII ended, not realising it was over.

I went into my local comic shop last night and they had a bunch of Marvel hardcovers on sale for almost half price. (This was due to a Marvel discount, so it should be happening at your local shops too!)

I got book one of Bruce Jones' Hulk (with that Banner mini series in the back), which I am enjoying so far, as well as the Kevin Smith Daredevil (with the David Mack Echo story in the back), and X-23 (with NYX in the back)

There were a bunch more of them, I might go back and get book 2 of the Hulk.

Sadly they only had the later Bendis Daredevils.

I also picked up issue one of the new Groo mini series. Even though I HATED the recent Groo 25th anniversary special. First time I ever hated a Groo.

All in all, a pretty great haul!

I went out to Barnes and Noble to see if they had the new Scott Pilgrim book. They didn't have it! I was super bummed. I know I've seen SP books there in the past. Then I almost bought this instead, but I decided I'll just put Scott Pilgrim and Tin Tin on my Christmas list.

Super Villain Team Up: Modok's 11 was fucking brilliant. A ton of schlocky F-troop villains stealing a big thing and the art was so great and the ending was fabulous. I'd say it holds up fine to the casual reader, but is quite a treat for a marvel enthusiast. (I am reticent to use the old term "Marvel Zombie" now that, you know, it's a thing.)

P.S. also yes I know this didn't come out this week.

Huh, the only mainstream comic I read now. Although I am waiting for my order of the new Jack Kirby Fourth World. So I guess I lied.
