:totem1: Both my bosses were off sick the past two days, and things were quite slow for me. Which is fine. BUT the internet and email was off both days, all day! Painful! How am I to effectively goof off without the Infinite Time Wasting Machine???

:drawing: Inked and coloured for a good four hours last night and still didn't get what I wanted done.

:rainbow: Yesterday was the annual Building Appreciation BBQ at :totem1: and it was grey and chilly. Today is nice and sunny.

:ipod: My MP3 player has decided it doesn't want to work this week.
:phone: Both the phones at home seem to be acting up.

:qotd: Is it solar flares or something? How is your technology this week?

:qotd: We actually had to have Comcast replace the cable line to our house on Monday. Our internet has always had occasional problems, but it had gotten really bad in the past couple weeks. It seemed like it was going out every time the temperature got over 85F or so. It's been up continuously since they put the new line in, but the weather has been cooler also, so I'm not sure if that means the problem is fixed or not.

I've been slowing re-arranging my work area. First I mounted my computer to the wall, kind of high up, so that it is out of the spray range of my parents' cats. That freed up a bunch of space on my computer desk so I moved everything around on that, as well as moving the printer underneath the desk so that it's not sitting in front of the vent any more. And then with the higher monitor I had to raise up my chair, which meant also raising my drafting table. And then this morning I sawed out a section of a printer's type drawer that I have, and I'll attach that to my drafting table so that I can put my ink jar in one of the compartments so that it can be held up at and angle while I draw. I never mix up very much ink at a time, so I have to dip my pen in all the way to the bottom of the jar, and when it's flat that means the pen doesn't pick up much ink at all.

:qotd: My tech's working fine! But that might be the benefit of a brand new build, every cable is shiny and new.

:totem1: I don't think I've left work on time at all this week. Overtime is nice for the paycheque, but crappy for the work life balance.

:unders: Today's outfit: M*A*S*H ensemble. (Green cargo pants, flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt.)

:rainbow: Yeah, I regretted not taking a jacket on my lunch break walk down to the river yesterday.

Speaking of the river, the high waters washed the log I sit on during lunch away! Hopefully a new one washes up soon.

My building complex has an amenity room with fancy gym equipment in it, so in an effort to shed a few pounds and generally be more healthy, I put some time in there. Hoo boy! I'm out of shape. But in the words of Jake the Dog: Sucking at something is the first step to becoming sorta good at something!

That's crazy DIY stuff you've got going on there Melanie! I really need to organize my work area too. Right now it's piles of paper and odds and ends I haven't taken care of since I moved in here.

I approve of this. Nay, I applaud it!

Melanie, please post pictures of your work space! It sounds pretty awesome.
