It is Walpurgis Day here in Sweden! Tonight we set shit on fire! Mostly old branches and stuff, though. Tomorrow we march through the streets with red banners because it is May Day. Yes yes y'all!

Anyway I came back here to post this and ask :jcm: when he intended to expand his perspective book to include how to do this kind of shit.

 Ah good we will raise a glass and burn things in honour of the patron saint of those suffering from rabies.

:drawing: Manien worked yesterday so I got reasonably busy drawing. Also working out visiting plans with my family. And trying to sort out old zines and so forth. Found quite a stack of comics from the high days of the :cc: and the Hotel of Love and so forth which made me go Aw and put them in the Keep Pile.

:rainbow: Looks like a rainy week ahead. Hard to believe I will be in Toronto on Friday!

:ipod: I listened to the WTF podcast with Andy Kaufman cohort Bob Zmuda. A lot of stuff that was familiar from the movie Man on the Moon, but I ate it up anyways.

:qotd: How was your weekend?

:qotd: Productive enough that I actually didn't hate myself on Sunday evening for pissing the whole weekend away. Even with the tooth troubles!

:cc: Anything by me in there?

Oh yeah also FINALLY went to the Stockholm SPX after missing it three years in a row and picked up a small stash, and met an artist I admired (although I didn't realize it was him until he asked who he was signing it to). I should see if he wants his stuff translated into English because it's awesome stuff: Theo's Occult Curiosities.

Most of that is five-point perspective -- which IS in the book. Some of it IS six-point, which isn't, but I totally woulda put it in the book if the publisher would have given me an extra thirty pages.

I'm all moved! Now there's a lot of unpacking to do, and a lot of sorting to do. That's the issue with combining two homes, we have two toasters, two ironing boards, two of a lot of things. For some bizarre reason we have five tubs of cocoa. All the same brand and all the same size. Time to make some brownies!

I put on some fiancé pants on the weekend. Lots of :wine: resulted. Woot! Not going to worry about dates or ceremonies and whatnot quite yet. We'll unpack first, see how jobs go, save up some bling.

:rainbow: Yeah, could really use some vitamin D.

:totem1: I almost quit my job early on Friday. While I was moving house, the president of the current :totem2: found out I resigned and phoned my new :totem1: trying to get an extension on my start date! I was never consulted on this, I only found out when my new boss phoned and said he'd have to open the job up if I couldn't start when agreed. I assured new :totem1: that I would honour my start date then made an angry angry call to old :totem1: . It's all good now.

:skinner: Walpurgis Day sounds rad.

Does anyone even celebrate May Day in North America?

I didn't come across anything yet. But there are many boxes and bags and piles still to go.

:scott_r: Congrats on the fiancé-ing! Lots of stuff going on in Scottsville this year!

:totem1: Is it TCAF yet?

I was mostly just being a goof when I said that, but this is cool news to know. I really have to arm myself with a big ol' sketch pad, sit down, and read all this stuff.

:scott_r: As far as the States go, a lot more now than previously. Which is perfectly fine by me, since May Day was born in Chicago. Bringin' it back home to its roots. Also your old :totem1: is a fuckknuckle. Also also congratulations! :scott_r:   :skinner: This is us toasting your engagement.

Bogus! Glad you smoothed that over.

I figured -- but just wanted the excuse to toot my own horn.

Rarely a bad thing, unless you had spicy food the night before.
