So the big Fan Expo was quite a success. Apparently they expected 6000 people and 12,000 showed up. When I went out for lunch on Saturday, there was a lineup two blocks long waiting to get in. They had to stop selling tickets due to fire regulations!

Luckily this did not translate into buckets of money in my pockets. People wanted flashy drawings of superheroes like the young guy next to me was selling. Boy people were crazy for his drawings! All day both days people were constantly going for the three prints for $50 deal. In the first 20 minutes of the show he likely made more than I made both days total. Oh well, I knew that was likely the way it was going to go, but having him by me really rubbed it in.

 The comic jam was a pleasant oasis in the middle of the weekend at least.

:book: This Robopocalypse book isn't as much fun as I thought it would be.

Ooh, wish the expo had been an amazing success for you. I totally get the "rubbing it in" feeling. I've been having that myself from a couple quarters, and I'm pretty sick of it. Mainly of myself for letting it get to me, y'know?

It definitely is a matter of letting it get to me. As I said, I knew going in that it wasn't really my kind of show, but I decided to give it a go anyways.

And to be clear, the guy next to me in no way lorded his success over me (in fact we didn't say so much as hi all weekend (weirdly)). It just happened that I was sitting there being ignored Sunday afternoon, so I had lots of time to listen to him breathlessly telling people, sorry that print is sold out, sorry he's out of business cards, sorry he's out of bags, he wasn't expecting it to go THIS well.

:weep:
