I'm reading this book Manien recommended called the Family Fang. It is about a couple who do these performance art actions where they stage strange occurences in public places like malls to evoke a reaction in an unsuspecting public. They have two kids and also use their son and daughter in the performances. Manien correctly predicted that I would quite enjoy about crazy artists and their damaged offspring.

On the other hand I didn't get much art done myself on the weekend. I did some laying out of comics I need to print up this week. Tedious.

Finally got some new shoes on the weekend. From Mountain Equipment Coop. Usually I find their shoes much too hike-y and ugly, but these ones are all right. Also a nice new backpack that is pretty swanky looking.

Watched Young Adult last night. Charlize Theron looking impressively haggard.

Back to regular office-wear now that Cleanup Week is done.

Moderately productive and currently limited to two games on Draw Something. I need to find peeps like what Vancouver had at the Jolly Alderman.

I got a little bit too much sun on the weekend, actually managed to scorch the top of my head a bit! Sun tan lotion is my new daily moisturizer.

I'm behind schedule on this big job I'm working on. Which is putting other jobs behind schedule. But I don't really care anymore. I'll just continue working away as best I can. Can't let myself feel bad because we're now short staffed because of someone else's poor decisions.

I did my taxes on the weekend! And I got a return! I think this year is the year I finally get a new bike. I wish Public had a dealership in Vancouver.

I got the oil changed on my car on Thursday and one of the seals didn't take, so my car is leaking oil pretty bad. Not horrible, but it left a puddle of fresh oil in my parking spot. Luckily I have some concrete cleaner left over from when my last car was a leaky mess.

I've been thinking of new shoes too, but I was thinking of some dressy Fluevog's. Not that I can really afford them, but I really like their style.

Haven't been able to be arty. All my supplies are packed up and I've been too busy packing and TCB to do kick back and make some art.

I had a hankering to rewatch Reboot. So I've got that on the download. One of the things I liked about Mainframe was all the pop culture jokes they slipped in to their shows. Was watching an old episode of Shadowraiders and they made a little homage to Terminator 2. (the thumbs up at the end) It worked in the script and was a nice little nod to the artist's influences.

Man I miss the Jolly Alderman.

I only miss the Jolly Alderman in that it didn't tend to have the same stress at that start of the jams. At the Wallflower there is often a half hour there at the start where we don't quite have enough tables for everyone.

Although back in the High Days of the Jolly Alderman I tended to see more of the . So I miss that.


I was looking at shoes at Umeboshi on Main and MAN there are some luscious leather hand-made shoes there. A little too expensive for my current budget though.

Last night I had a dream where a Q-like character kept flipflopping on whether to destroy the earth or not. At one point he made an island disappear and I desperately hit Ctl-Z to make it reappear.
