:totem1: Busy week, with me taking yesterday afternoon off, and then there is a party sort of thing this afternoon that will waste half the day, and then my boss is away Thursday and Friday. So I have a lot to do tomorrow, I guess.

:rainbow: Despite the rain, we had fun yesterday afternoon with my Mom. We got a zipcar and went to a salmon hatchery, the Cleveland Dam, and to a suspension bridge (the free one). Corners of North Van that Manien and I never get to in daily life. So that was fun, with umbrellas.

:drawing: Maybe I will do this again some day.
:pirate: We got watching this show Drop Dead Diva with my Mom and although I couldn't say it is a particularly good show, it was surprisingly entertaining.

Bugger of a day at work but I still got 4,000 words translated and should be coming in on time for the two projects I'm juggling. Picked up a manual of shorthand writing for Swedish so that I can follow branch meetings better and maybe get more into the debates. 'S fun so far, but man do I want to try to learn Gregg shorthand too. Useless Skills MAAAANNN!

A missed connection in Amsterdam due to a plane replacement in Rome got us back into YVR last night around nine, instead of two. But I'm back in the saddle today all jet lagged at :totem1: . But if I'm going to be jet lagged, might as well get paid for it!

Been tough switching back to English. Not that I could speak Italian, but not saying buonjourno when I should say good morning has been tough.

:rainbow: Delightfully cool and moist. Three weeks of heat and dusty dry gets tedious after a while.

:jto: I haven't been to either of the suspension bridges in North Van in ages! The free one is in Lynn Valley isn't it?

I got home last night to find out they had changed the code on my condo's parkade, need to find that out so I can park in the dry again.

:skull: My body is all confused about what time it should be eating and pooping and sleeping. It wants dinner right now.

:drawing: I took all these art supplies to Italy and ended up making four little paintings. I suppose that's a good thing in a way. It means I was too busy doing stuff and seeing sights. I think I have over a thousand photos to sift through.

:scott_r: Welcome Back Scotter!
And straight back to :totem2: - ouch!

It is indeed! And since it was still pretty drizzly when we went there, it was fairly empty (not a solid line of people going both directions across the bridge, like in the summer). They have fixed it up in the past couple of years, and now there is a little coffee shop there, and the signs are all tasteful and modern looking.

When Manien and I went camping in August we forgot our camera, and it was actually sort of liberating to not have that constant urge to take pictures. They would have mostly been moss and mushrooms anyways.

:ipod: The title of this roll call is inspired by Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, which plays a part in this afternoon's :totem1: party.

Noticed that someone had found my new blog through the Daily Grind page, which was unexpected. Figured I'd stop in and pay my respects, also, let people know I'm not dead.

I'm not dead. It's sunny here in Tennessee, and I am very busy. Hope you are all well.

*Edit: Whoah, holy shit. I do not remember making that avatar.

Whoah! It's John Hill! And he is some sort of horrifying wereman.
Thanks for stopping by.

:cc: I guess I should bug :ed: to update the Grind page. Mike Stevens was out a while ago. Only four left, apparently?

Oh Mike was called out? Did he leave or miss an update? I quit watching shortly after I left. I remember thinking it was a big deal when Phil Redmon got disqualified.

:jto: It's good to be back! As awesome and inspiring as Italy was, it always feels good to come home again.

Except for Naples. Naples was a hole. Garbage everywhere and everything seemed closed on Sunday.

Wasn't John's avatar left over from :boug: 's make yourself a monster thing from years back. That was a fun challenge.

That's actually me in a halloween costume from 3 or more years ago, when I first moved back from California. I just don't remember ever adding the color effects to it. Perhaps I did do it for :boug:'s make youself a monster thing.

Bonjourno! I remember when I got back from Japan it took me a couple days to stop bowing to people.
